Senior Controls Engineer
We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer for a leading producer of engineered steel products. This organization is a well-established player in the rail, energy, and industrial markets, committed to sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence. The role involves optimizing manufacturing processes and enhancing equipment performance in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Compensation: $145-150k
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with operations and quality assurance teams to optimize manufacturing processes and increase efficiency.
- Maintain and enhance in-house software process models to support operational functions.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce defects and process inefficiencies, utilizing data-driven approaches.
- Collect and analyze operational data to create proof-of-concept models for process improvements.
- Partner with engineering teams to improve equipment performance and troubleshoot any issues.
- Manage relationships with vendors to ensure the timely and effective support of equipment and software.
- Develop and provide training materials for team members on process improvements and systems.
- Oversee and maintain Level II supervisory systems hardware and software.
- Provide 24/7 support for critical manufacturing operations, including troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Materials Science Engineering.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in the steel industry.
- Strong background in mathematics and numerical methods for problem-solving.
- Experience in developing and working with adaptive software process models.
- Proficiency in DEC Fortran, DEC C on OpenVMS, and .NET programming languages (Windows OS).
- Extensive experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL for database management.
- Preferred expertise with VMware virtual environments and industrial networking.
- Ability to troubleshoot and improve complex algorithms and source code.
- Strong knowledge of group problem-solving techniques.
- Willingness to support 24-hour operations, including variable shifts as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with industrial networking and topology.
- Familiarity with steel rolling mills or similar industrial environments.
- Experience working with virtual environments (e.g., VMware).
