The Receiving Lead will play a vital role in coordinating the efficient flow of products and materials into the warehouse, ensuring all inbound shipments are processed accurately and promptly. This role is crucial to meeting daily operational demands and ensuring optimal service delivery for inventory management.

Responsibilities for this position include overseeing the receiving process, utilizing warehouse management and inventory systems to support continuous improvement and scalability. The Receiving Lead will ensure that receiving operations meet our operational goals and will be integral in defining processes, procedures, and systems to support long-term growth. This position requires an individual with a keen eye for detail and a focus on operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will have a customer-first mentality and aim to “wow” in every interaction, ensuring seamless and accurate deliveries from suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily receiving operations, ensuring the accurate and timely receipt of products.
  • Implement lean methodologies to streamline receiving processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance receiving systems, procedures, and workflows.
  • Train and manage receiving team members in lean practices and efficient workflows.
  • Analyze and report on receiving metrics to identify trends and areas for process enhancement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate best practices throughout the supply chain.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and industry regulatory standards.
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure all received goods are processed, stocked, and stored appropriately.
  • Ensure timely communication with suppliers and other departments regarding order discrepancies or shipping delays.
  • Keep up to date on all changes, regulations, and customer needs.

Requirements:

  • Certified in Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Customer-first mentality
  • 5+ years of experience in a warehouse environment
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a leadership role within receiving or logistics
  • Proven track record of implementing successful process improvement initiatives
  • Proficient in logistics and inventory software systems (ShipStation experience is a plus)
  • Proven knowledge of warehouse organization and workflow
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong active listening and communication skills
  • MUST HAVE – Keen attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Google Spreadsheets
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
