Job Overview:

As the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for leading and optimizing the procurement process, managing a team of procurement professionals, and overseeing the sourcing, purchasing, and vendor relationship management activities. You will work cross-functionally with departments like operations, finance, and logistics to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's objectives and ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery of goods and services.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies to meet business needs while optimizing cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
  • Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, purchasing, and delivery.
  • Manage key vendor relationships, ensuring consistent performance, quality standards, and compliance with agreements.
  • Monitor and assess market trends to make informed sourcing decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, logistics, and production, to align procurement activities with company goals.
  • Review and approve purchase orders, contracts, and supplier agreements to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare and manage the procurement budget, tracking expenses and ensuring adherence to financial targets.
  • Conduct supplier performance evaluations and resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, legal requirements, and ethical standards in all procurement activities.
  • Prepare regular reports on procurement performance, savings initiatives, and strategic sourcing efforts for senior management.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes to increase efficiency and reduce risk.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field (preferred). Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience in negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, and sourcing goods and services.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and sourcing strategies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement and supply chain software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar tools) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, contract law, and procurement compliance standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
